2024 – Q2 in review

Ahoy hoy, how are we all? I hope you are well and cosy. This blog post is about 2024 Q2 in review.

My eczema

Thankfully, I’m no longer taking baths. My eczema is healing very slowly. It’s just my legs and feet where you can see any sign of my eczema. That was true until me, my mum and sister went to a local vegan festival, where lunch, dinner and the following day’s lunch, weren’t gluten-free.

My #rockulele videos

I know that I said that last month was meant to be reggae songs but, Spotify has a feature called DJ. Where it has an AI DJ called DJ X, who plays songs similar to your tastes. But for some reason, it played songs from this year. So I thought that that last month should be modern songs, This month’s theme is reggae and the month after is songs made in 1988, as it’s my birthday in August.

Last month, a friend of mine from the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, passed away, I attended his funeral and at the end, they had played a funny song. I asked Kerri, who works at Mercia MS centre, what that song was and she told me that it was Happiness by Ken Dodd. So I that week, I recorded myself playing Happiness by Ken Dodd.

I had recently bought a P-Buzz, similar to a P-Bone but a lot more simpler, where the chords are on the pipe.

Me working

Unfortunately, I’m still not working, I’m slowly progressing through the list of tutorials that Joe sent me a couple of years ago

My weight

My weight is now at 66kg. Which in fact is ideal for someone my height and age. I know that with my tablets (steroids), a flat stomach is really, really tricky.

My mile a day in May

Back in May this year, I and a bunch of fellow brain injury victims who are part of The Sliver Linings charity, took part in a mile a day in May. Where we had to walk a mile a day, every day in May. Unfortunately, due to my fatigue, I had to do the mile in several sections.

My crashnnversy

Last month, was my crashnnversy. When on June 4th 2015, I rolled my car on the ring road, with my mum in it. We were both taken to UHCW for full-body MRIs, and that’s when it was discovered that I had 6 brain tumours. It’s been 9 years since that accident and I can remember that day like it was yesterday.

It does make me feel sad that I’ve lost so much since my diagnosis. My independence and my ability to drive thanks to one of the tumours being on the optic nerve. My old friends, my ability to work full-time thanks to my fatigue, But the comeback is greater then the downfall. And my comeback starts soon.

That’s it for now. Once again, I just want to thank a few people’s . Firstly, I would like to thank my mum, dad, sister, my Naughty Mamaji and my Masi(auntie), for being by my side, throughout everything. I would like to thank everyone from BTS for sharing this with the community. I would like to thank Kanika, Shirley, and everyone at Carers Trust for giving me the confidence to share my story and I would like to thank Joe for motivating me to get back on the horse. And I would like to thank everyone at the hospital, my family and friends, and everyone I’ve met on this journey.

Next time, I’m going to talk about my 2024 – Q3 review.
